Salad

One thing I love about Texas is the long growing season. Right now we have everything for salad right in out backyard.

Here are the cucumbers. We even have some peppers still growing. We also have onions and peas in this box.

Here we have different types of lettuce, some carrots, and radish. We also have some broccoli plants just starting.

These boxes have our 4 artichoke plants and our strawberries.
Our other two boxes have eggplant, more carrots, celery, and squash growing. I just love the garden. It is a great learning experience for the kids and it saves me so much money.

Do your boxes have bottoms or are they simply to section areas off? I want to do something like this but I live in a subdivision where we can't plant into the ground like this. I can however make an area that is removeable and I'm going to work on that for next season. That's awesome to have what you need right in your back yard, as fresh as it gets.

Our boxes are built into the ground but I think that if the bottoms were enclosed they would work as well. Just be sure they have good drainage.
